EV charger installation is one of the most common requests we get from Gwinnett County homeowners right now — and it is also one of the jobs where cutting corners creates the most risk. A dedicated EV charging circuit carries significant electrical load every single day. It needs to be done correctly.
For these two projects — one Tesla, one BMW — we handled Level 1 and Level 2 installations respectively. Every EV charger installation we do starts the same way: we look at the panel first. We check the available capacity, calculate the load the new circuit will add, and confirm whether the existing panel can handle it safely before we do anything else.
From there we ran dedicated circuits sized correctly for each vehicle and charger, installed the charging units in the right locations for each garage layout, and completed full testing before sign-off. Both installations were permitted through Gwinnett County Building Services and passed inspection the first time.
